Edge of a Silent Time

Chapter 1: Flare in the Dark

My body quivered as I took the final step to destruction. The cold steel in my hands inching  forward. The warm fluid taking the last of my light. The pain my body felt was immeasurable.  The light that once was, would now only allow me to see the red that filled my future. The darkness my life would be was shown for the first time in this dimmed reality

My chiseled chin was mirrored perfectly in the Demonic red fluid. My muscles grew tense as my hand retreated and soon my whole mind would fade. As my head fell forward bringing the rest of my body crashing forward. The last thing I saw was demonic eyes looking back at me, ripping apart my soul with there gaze, and then I was gone.

The next thing I knew, all was gone. I could feel how weightless my body was, as if I was floating in  a sea nothing mattered. Then it came, a shock that pulled me out of my own world. And I came crashing into the cold waste that was and always would be reality. My eyes constricting from intense light, bringing my muscles into the same motion.

My senses acting together. I looked up only to see a figure in front of me. On A large stone bench stood a magnificent sight. A man with thick hair black hair that looked almost as infinite as the darkest nights sky. My eyes scanning over his face. Obscure scars surrounded his face but by far the the most obscure mark on his face was his nose. Peering out like a dagger, ready to strike at any second,. Could this be a sign of how ferocious this angel was.

His voice was sly and smooth, washing over my ears like a gentle tide. “Good afternoon… Things are already in motion my dear friend” The soft melody of his voice rang through my ears before I realized what they meant.

My body rushed me to my feet in fear. I reached for my side and looked at him, I knew deep down I had to  play it cool. “What’s … happening”  I said with a pause that seemed to last a lifetime.

When he spoke, it was obvious how twisted he was. It was as if though he didn’t even have a head. A smile filled his face but parted. And as the words “The end of suffering” came out of his mouth, the power followed. The gates opened and almost instantly my body began to automatically run down the halls

However the eyes followed me. The twisted man chased me as far as he could but I could feel something push me down and at that moment I could hear a hiss. “ Run you fool… you’re my friend… escape and free me… so we can bring chaos into suffering” Then it went silent.

My eyes peered up in the darkness. I couldn’t see anything but a small blue glint that quickly faded. My body felt so heavy, so hard to move. I kept on treking forward, as if though every inch was needed for me to hold onto my life.

I could feel a surge go through my body. Not painfull… not liberating… just a surge. My muscles inched forward and my lips on. “Come on… Derek… must keep going” I said to myself I could hear the marching of rampant prisoners come up behind me. I knew it was over.

In one final jolt I moved forward. All or nothing.

My last breath left my lungs. My muscles relaxed, my eyes shut for the last time.

Chapter 2: The silenced age

It felt as if though mind was ripped from body. I floated endlessly filling nothing but a cold pain. Finally I took a step towards the light.  It began pulling , calling, and lifting me to reality. I couldn’t help it, even though it was the last thing. Finally my eyes ripped open like the hull of a broken submarine. My eyes filling with a light.

Fire and ruins encircled me like vultures waiting for me to die. The fear I felt was cold and endless I knew it was like my own patch of permafrost, forever clouding my heart. I was truly in hell. My body arose slowly

I walked the silenced roads. Eyeing the ancient dirt that surrounded it, it looked untouched for centuries. And the burning buildings added to its glare, the fumes were so noxious and added to the heinous screams that filled the air.

The next sight to fill my eyes was possibly the most frightening object ever. A large mirrored pillar falling  to pieces, desks and papers could be seen around the ground, however the object that scared me was a glowing blue light in the center.

It was then it hit me, I began running, Urging all my muscles for every movement, theres not a moment to spare. “running, out of time” I whispered as I ran into the doors of the ruined skyscraper.. The inside was either scalded, rotten, or crumbling. How many years have passed? I wondered as I wandered the halls of this building.

As I pulled my body onto a desk on the fourth floor, I could almost feel a shaking. . I looked out the window to see a small crack forming in the desert city below. My eyes glanced up again, I had one shot to make it to the glowing blue light.

I lept up  to a hole in the roof. I could see it clearly now. The source of light, misery, and silence.

An omniscient figure in a tattered cloak and worn armor loomed over the room. “Nice of you to join me… What has it been, twenty two years? Does it even matter, you haven’t aged, but look at me, look at this magnificent form” The figure said as I moved back, the building was falling, and we were trapped. My gaze shifted to the ground, I saw a shard of glass and reached for it.

“Awww… I remember this, such a fool to try” He said as he ran at me. “Who are you” I whispered into this mysterious figures ear. My arms pushing the glass into its chest, only to be a bsorbed without an effect.

“Silly… you wasted our time… your life… and your hope” He said softly as he  began pushing me into the glowing blue whole that was his torso. It was then I first experienced temporal power first hand. It was as if though time had stopped. I could see everything, feel nothing, be nothing. It was truly amazing.

Through the alleyways the sound of screaming echoed through the ruined alleyways , laughter following like a vicious hyena .

Finally, I was gone, I had left the silence, and was ready to begin my journey to hope… or to the end.

Chapter 3:Journey to the beginning
This time, I was used to it. I knew what happened this time, and I was ready… ready to be bent by the thing that moves us all. I knew. I wasn’t in a dream, I wasn’t dead, I wasn‘t on another planet. I was just lost in time.

My eyes opened  to reveal a large stone wall in front of me. The stone had strange circular marks that forced my gaze to flow into them.
